Salsa/Latin Dance Lessons

Social dancing can change your life in beautiful ways. We congratulate you for having the courage to explore the possibility of becoming a dancer. Our Latin Dance curriculum will take you from a beginner (no experience or partner required) to an advanced dancer in salsa, bachata, and merengue. Classes are divided into Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced classes, each in turn divided into two sections: Beginner 1, Beginner 2, Intermediate 1, etc. While results depend completely on how much work the student puts into practicing outside the classroom, the typical student can reach the Intermediate 2 or Advanced 1 level after six months of weekly lessons.

Edwin has a doctorate in music, so many lessons will include teaching on music history, Latin instruments, and musicality. We will also deal with different aspects of dance etiquette. Besides the three main dances listed above, we will also incorporate other styles, such as Argentinian Tango, to acquire a deeper grasp of certain concepts. Different regional styles of salsa dancing will also be introduced along the way. Edwin has taught dance for over 20 years and will distill as much as possible into these classes. We hope to see you at salsa!
